Symphonie Fantastique
10/09/2021, 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM
Indiana University, Havens Auditorium
The KSO presents Symphonie Fantastique, a ground-breaking, forward-thinking, rule-breaking masterpiece that sprang from the mind of French composer Hector Berlioz. A tribute to unrequited love and emanating from an opium-induced haze, this piece has emotional mood changes, textural variation, and a story that is woven through it leading up to a beheading at the end. We will also perform two other French favorites, Danse Macabre, by Camille Saint Saens and Funeral March for a Marionette by Charles Gounod. Who knew the French were so fixated on truly spooky themes? $20 single ticket or save with a season ticket! College student $5; Students K-12 free.
