Christian Starnes is currently director of orchestras and the performing arts center manager for
Eastern Howard School Corporation (Greentown, IN) where he has been since 2011 and has been a secondary orchestra teacher since 2007. He has been awarded Top Ten Most Influential Staff Member at Eastern high school for the 2013-14 and 2014-15 school years and was awarded Top Ten Teacher at Brownsburg East middle school in 2011. He holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Music Business from Butler University where he was awarded a performance scholarship to play with the university symphony. At present he is pursuing a Master’s of Music in Music Education at Kent State University. He has been teaching private string instruction since 1998. He is an ISSMA adjudicator and works with secondary students throughout the state of Indiana. He is also an active performer with local groups including the Kokomo Symphony and Carmel Symphony Orchestras. He served on the Board of Directors on the International Society of Bassists from 2000-2001 and currently serves on the Kokomo Symphony board.
