Handel's Messiah

A collaboration with the KSO, IUK and local churches to perform the timeless music of Handel's Messiah.  Handel's Messiah has been described by the early music scholar Richard Luckett as "a commentary on [Jesus Christ's] Nativity, Passion, Resurrection and Ascension", beginning with God's promises as spoken by the prophets and ending with Christ's glorification in heaven.  A meaningful way to begin the Christmas season.

Wonder Women

The Kokomo Symphony Orchestra is proud to perform a concert featuring women, composer's soloists, and composer/soloists!    World-famous Kokomo vocalist, Alicia Berneche , relates the James Agee's poignant story, Knoxville: Summer of 1915 put to music by American composer Samuel Barber.  Kokomo native and world-renowned jazz pianist Becky Archibald, will perform her piece, What if?.  We will also feature music written by living American women Ellen Taafe Zwilllich, her Fanfare for the Uncommon Woman. a tribute to strong women all over the world who accomplish great things, and Jennifer Higdon's Blue Cathedral, a magical piece that touches the heart and, once you know the story, touches your soul.    We will be honoring local female past contributors who have impacted and supported the symphony through the years.

Expedition Through Space and Time

The Kokomo Symphony looks towards outer space performing the piece that rockets us right out into our solar system, The Planets, by Gustav Holst.  Hear the piece that provided the ideas for music about outer space and listen as the Kokomo Symphony Orchestra performs a suite of the music from the original Star Wars score by John Williams.  This is a massive concert, not to be missed.
