Holiday Brass Quintet-Mini Concert

December 11, 2022
3:00 PM
Grace United Methodist Church

We will have a Christmas Brass concert at Grace United Methodist Church on Sunday, December 11, 2022.   Come ready for the most familiar sacred and secular tunes for this holiday season performed by brass from the Kokomo Symphony Orchestra.  Our youth will perform a few pieces prior to the KSO.

The String Theory of Everything

January 21, 2023
7:00 PM
Indiana University, Havens Auditorium

Our mid-Winter concert will feature the string section of the Kokomo Symphony Orchestra. The String Theory of Everything will feature Mozart’s most famous serenade, Eine Kleine Nachtmusik and include more music by American composer George Antheil; his String Serenade was composed prior to his composition of film scores for Cecil B. DeMille. We travel through the neo-Rennaisance soundscape of Ottorino Respighi’s Gli Ucelli (The Birds) and also include a medley from Johann Johannsson’s score for the movie, The Theory of Everything. It will be a concert that has something that everyone will like. This concert will be performed at Havens Auditorium on January 21.

Strings Quintet Concert-Mini Concert

March 12, 2023
3:00 PM
Grace United Methodist Church

A string quintet featuring our conductor, José Valencia, and members of the Kokomo Symphony Orchestra will shred on their instruments in a concert that non-traditionally features the music of Led Zeppelin and other legendary rock groups. This concert will be held at Grace United Methodist Church on Sunday, March 12.

Symphonic Power!

May 20, 2023
7:00 PM
Grace United Methodist Church

Our Spring finale, Symphonic Power, is a tribute to very large orchestra forces incorporated into film. Themes from Camille St. Saëns’ Symphony No. 3 (The Organ Symphony) are heavily featured in the movie series that started with Babe, Pig in the City. The large symphony and grand organ sounds will literally blow you out of your seats. And, since we are using large orchestra, we might as well perform one of the most famous classical music pieces of all time that has also been featured in several films, Maurice Ravel’s Bolero. This concert will be performed on May 20 at Grace United Methodist Church.
